You Matter.
Your Story Matters.
Have you ever felt overlooked? Like you weren’t valued, or somehow weren’t enough for the people around you? The pain of feeling as though we don’t matter is something I’ve always been deeply mindful of, and it has become an integral part of my counseling philosophy. I want everyone who walks through my office doors to feel seen and valued.
I first discovered the concept of Mattering while listening to Dan Harris’s Ten Percent Happier podcast featuring Dr. Gordon Flett. The idea immediately resonated with me. Mattering felt like the perfect foundation for my practice and ultimately inspired its name.
When others fail to show up for us, overlook us, or make us feel as though we are less than enough, those experiences can leave lasting wounds. But the opposite can be just as powerful. When someone truly sees us, accepts us, and reminds us that we matter, the ripple effect can be profound.
One quote that has always resonated with me, both personally and professionally, is Oscar Wilde’s: “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” It’s simple, but so true. When in doubt, remember that you are who you are for a reason. Yet remembering that isn’t always easy.
My hope is that this space can be one where you feel safe to share what matters to you, while receiving the validation, support, and encouragement you need to heal and move forward. Because at the heart of it all, we share an innate human desire to know one simple, powerful truth:
You matter.
